Bridget Fleming, a five-year Southampton Town Councilwoman who now seeks to represent the South Fork and Shelter Island in the Suffolk County Legislature, has been endorsed for that position by the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association of Southampton Town.

In a letter, the PBA cites Ms. Fleming’s “work ethic, honesty, and selfless approach to community concerns,” stating that on the Town Council, she has “exemplified what it means to be a true representative of the ‘People’.”

Southampton’s PBA represents patrolmen in the largest police force in the 2nd Legislative District, which comprises Southampton, East Hampton and Shelter Island Towns, plus part of Brookhaven Town. Referring to Ms. Fleming, the organization’s endorsing letter goes on to declare:

"Your immediate approach to community needs and willingness to give of yourself sets you apart from any other candidate . . . .You quickly gained the respect and admiration of our community, and our working families. Your honest, pragmatic and hopeful insight into community concerns and your willingness to examine the issues and listen closely to the public is commendable."

Bridget Fleming will be on the ballot in the November 3rd general election as a candidate for Suffolk County Legislator from the 2nd Legislative District.
